The County of Ribagorza stretched across northeastern Aragon, through the Pyrenean valleys of what is now the province of Huesca. It experienced its period of greatest autonomy and political prominence between the 10th and 11th centuries as an independent county, before becoming permanently integrated into the Kingdom of Aragon.
